Last nite’s CHOICE was “dumb fly” and packed to a point where we literally had to turn people away (still they waited. ..WOW!). We were also honored to have a return visit from the esteemed company and cast of FELA! ON BROADWAY including Mr. SAHR NGAUJAH bless the nite! Also a special appearance from RHETT FRAZIER and countless other really beautiful people! We Thank You! This somewhat explains the photo…I am sure this pic was taken from the “Buttercup” session or just another day in the lab with two geniuses at Motown.
I have to give a big shout to my brother, ace boon, DORIAN MISSICK (aka DJ TAILWIND TURNER) for dropping this record on Tuesday at CHOICE this week..All I remember was running from the bar, damn near charging towards the DJ booth. I had no idea J5 recorded this before another late great CARL ANDERSON who had a huge hit with this composition written by STEVIE WONDER. This was one of many Motown gems they did not release (we were cheated!! until now..). Observe how MJ is paying detailed attention to Stevie on the mixing board. Classic.
