RHETT FRAZIER, INC. | www.rhettfrazierinc.com
With their new album “Escape from Dee-Troyt”, Rhett Frazier, Inc. takes you back to that magical time when soul, rock, and funk acts were playing to the same crowds all over town — and breaking down a lot of musical barriers in the process!
Raphael Saadiq Presents
THA BOOGIE | www.myspace.com/thaboogie
Tha Boogie is a group of young creative and talented individuals who write, produce, record, arrange and perform their own music. The unique style of each member compliments the other as they journey into a genre of music that can be enjoyed by all. If you like Prince and Outkast, you will love Tha Boogie. They have opened for Mayer Hawthorne and have heavy support from Raphael Saadiq. Catch their show before they are too big too boogie in LA anymore.

where you at LA ??!! sometimes I dont know..but what I do know…
thinking about Domu…
This pic was taken in 2005. T.I.M, yours truly, Valida and Domu. This was back when Valida and I had a sunday residency at The Standard (DTLA) during the summer. Talk about some good times!! Domu dropped by that day and he was the one of the most sincere and genuine cats i’ve ever met, a really great guy, very down to earth, no fake rock star business..the real deal! An amazing talent who stepped the game up and his void will be felt in a tremendous way..Massive Respect!!!
One of my favorite findings and pieces that I feature in my sets is DOMU ft Pete Simpson’s “Wont Give Up” 12′..PURE BLISS!!! (ALL versions!)
TO DOMU: Hold your head..You are a gift to the world..Dont give anyone YOUR POWER..What we do is G-D given…NO MAN, Industry, etc has dominion on what we do or our mission.. We are in the business of music..not the music business..
Indeed, it is a very different time and a different industry..
But we dont have to change up..just make changes. Quality is timeless..quanity is a quick fix. Thank you for sharing with us a body of work that reflected QUALITY.
Stay Strong and I pray that you find PEACE.
INFINITE LOVE and APPRECIATION to you bruv..This one is for you..
Soulful House in The Bay | docu
Massive Respect to my man Dj Dedan who played at my “Love Is The Message” party 5 years ago and shut it down…my dude is NO joke..great docu! Peep the education..
side note: there’s really no definition..it is a feeling within’..stay away from those “BOXES”..
PS: I need that Terrence Trent D’arby track!!! ![]()
Members Only: Dance…90′s..as I remember it..
4 those that were there..I had to do it!! yall better not EVER have me do a 90′s set..you can keep that “It Takes Two” (even though that was 87)..
yep..I did it..for those who know!! posers NOT invited!!
EYE HEART YOU SHANTE!! HOLD YOUR HEAD..YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS..
Members Only: You Are The One | AM-FM
This was a huuuge record back east.. (WHERE YOU AT DC?!), it also had very minimal but strong “spins” for awhile here in LA. I went ape sh_t when I found the white label promo a few years ago during my travels..I dropped this one during the warm up set at our “Golden Stereo” event last week and Mr. Sly Stone’s b’day party at Zanzibar in LA a few month’s back. The sound system must be up to par in order to feel the effect of this song..Super Funk is always good to GO GO!!!
PS: Big shout to my homeslice Nikita.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy!
My man in the yellow goes hard!! Saturday Nite Fever (with a pinch of “Tommy” and “Sgt Pepper”) was a major gateway for dance culture to a great degree, as we can see in these clips.
and Jimmy came back for that ass!! get em’ Jimmy!!
Black Music in America | (vintage docu)
WARNING: the narrator is corny and rather narrow minded in his approach..”Primacy in rhythm”? wtf..just say the word FUNK! its that simple.. Overall, the presentation has amazing footage, good intent and is worthy of attention.
