I am fighting a serious cold/fever today..But despite it all, I went out promoting with the lovely Dj Lotuspetal and Mixmaster Noah. However, I couldn’t resist a quick run on some digging..here are some of the pieces I picked up today.

I had to cop this one due to the fact that the late great Larry Washington is a session player (percussionist of MFSB and countless other Philly Soul gems) and it was recorded at The Legendary Sigma Sounds. This a great Jazz/Rock piece, a must have.

King of the “Tiny Winey”! Its Byron Lee man, I had to do it!! One of the most instrumental figures behind Reggae/Soca music!! Im a huge fan..check for The Man!
Ilusions On A Double Dimple | Triumvirat | Harvest | ’74
This is a fusion rock jazz piece..this one is wide open. Totally on the bugged out tip.
Wings of Love | The Temptations | Motown | ’76
This record is very special..I believe this was The Tempts last album for Motown. The layering, the Funk..etc. Every track is epic..under the creative direction of the Legendary Jeffrey Bowen and his “ULTRA funky friends”.. Pure Bliss..
Found A Cure 12′ | Ashford and Simpson | WB | ’79
This record is a very uplifting piece that STILL stands out since its debut on the charts of 1979. I love the Dimitri from Paris re-edit but there’s nothing like the original Jimmy Simpson mix.

This pic was taken in 2005. T.I.M, yours truly, Valida and Domu. This was back when Valida and I had a sunday residency at The Standard (DTLA) during the summer. Talk about some good times!! Domu dropped by that day and he was the one of the most sincere and genuine cats i’ve ever met, a really great guy, very down to earth, no fake rock star business..the real deal! An amazing talent who stepped the game up and his void will be felt in a tremendous way..Massive Respect!!!

Ambient tones, soulful echoes and electro sounds are few of the many ingredients created in this audio collage. Nicolay clocks in with a sequel to “City Lights v1” , in which “City Lights v2” bears a mature and seasoned sound. The many moods that are captured on this album takes the listener on an audio canvas as a painter searching for a visual climax. “Bullet Train” reigns in a euphoric yet busy atmosphere, while dwelling in a dark and promise future. “Omotesando” has a loose and open feeling while leaning on a heavy Jazz Fusion groove, this is my personal favorite under the “City Lights”. “Meiji Shrine” gives a pinch of the Nicolay signature sound found in previous works, while serving as a reminder that the funk is still in control. The “buzz” cut is “Wake Up In Another Life” featuring vocalist Carlitta Durand, this lively piece is another highlight on the album worth checking out. This release sets a fresh and redefinitive approach in additon to exploring new ground, “City Lights v2” is the sure shot!
